Directions: Read TCI Lesson 16 Byzantine Empire Sections 1 and 2. Pretend you are visiting Constantinople for the first time as a trader or merchant. Write a letter to a family member or friend who did not make the journey with you to Constantinople. Explain in your letter the sights you see in the city, the culture you experience, the economy you engage in, the location of the city, and the must-see places you visited. Your letter should be at least 3 paragraphs (4-6 sentences), use evidence from the reading, and be free of spelling and grammar errors. When you are finished, please turn your letter in to the dropbox on Schoology.
